Rien by Etat Libre D'Orange is a leatherly-spicy unisex fragrance that was released in 2006. The name "Rien" translates to "nothing" in French. However, this fragrance is anything but simple or empty. It is described as a second skin perfume, a perfume that clings to the body and perseveres in the mind. It is a fragrance to go beyond the boundaries of everything, and find nothing but a seriously intense experience. This audacious perfume pushes the boundaries of fragrance complexity and richness. The composition includes about 80 notes that work in perfect harmony with each other. It is excessive, magnificent, and slightly decadent.

The fragrance opens with a spicy burst of black pepper, safraleine (saffron & leather accord), and incense essence Orpur®, which quickly gives way to the dominant leathery notes. This is complemented by the floral scent of iris and the resinous aroma of cistus. As the scent develops, the earthy notes of patchouli, vetiver, and treemoss emerge, adding depth and complexity to the fragrance.
