Chergui by Serge Lutens is a unisex fragrance that was launched in 2001. The name "Chergui" is inspired by the dry, desert wind that tears through Morocco in summer and brings life to a standstill. Like all of Lutens’ magnificent scent creations, Chergui is high art captured in a bottle, a magical elixir that can instantly turn the most elegant of wearers into slavish wrist sniffers. 

The fragrance opens with a pronounced scent of hay sugar, iris, and rose, presenting a warm, sweet yet slightly bitter aroma that stimulates the senses. This initial olfactory experience is slightly mellowed by the soft, animalic undertones of honey, musk, and incense, grounding the overall impact. In the dry down, the distinct scent of sandalwood becomes most prominent, providing a rich, warm character that permeates throughout. The tobacco and amber add a spicy depth, enhancing the lingering scent trail.
